We're finally leaving!!!

Well, after a year of planning we are finally on our way to Scotland! We're heading over to Seattle tomorrow afternoon and will spend the weekend visiting friends and getting Deacon ready for his trip (more vet visits!).  Our flight leaves on Tuesday at 6pm.  We'll arrive in London on Wednesday around noon and then once we get through customs and pick up Deacon, we've rented a car for the 6 1/2 hour drive to Edinburgh (this should be very entertaining after little sleep and driving on the "wrong" side of the road and car!).  We should arrive in Edinburgh around 9pm on Wednesday night and then we're meeting someone for the key to our apartment.  It should be quite the whirlwind.  We'll take lots of pictures and update our blog as soon as we can once we arrive!

yay! i'm stoked for you guy's! can't wait to see you if you make it up to Dornoch!
here's some tips, even though you might not get them until after you're here:
-at all costs, sleep as much as you can on the plane, take lots of ambien if need be (but don't overdose, of course, that would be really bad)

-you might need to stop on the side of the road and take a nap on your drive to Edinburgh. on our first trip to Scotland, we did something similar to what you're doing. rented a car and took only a 3 hour drive north to Dornoch. about an hour into the drive, we stopped for an hours nap. made all the difference.

-try to get upgraded to first class! use some excuse about being tall. if you have any circulation problems or recent injuries that might help too.

-when driving, just keep repeating to yourself "left side of the road, left side of the road."

-if you haven't already, check out the rules of navigating roundabouts

-we're praying for a safe and uneventful trip for all 3 of you!
