Ms. Stacie's Studio

This past weekend Stacie put together a piano recital for her 13 young students. It was encouraging to see all the parents supporting their kids but I was the proudest guy in the crowd! For me, it was great to see all of Stacie's hard work bear fruit thru the little fingers pecking away at the keyboard. One student, who's eight, played a challenging Bach piece and she's only been playing for a year and a half. Way to go babe!

Here's a shot of Ms. Stacie carefully watching a young pupil

Here's Stacie welcoming the audience. She hates public speaking but she did great!

Tulip Festival

We had the opportunity to head north out of Seattle this weekend and enjoy God's spectacular handywork at the Skagit County Tulip Festival. Take a look at these snapshots we captured...

Heather (my sister) and Brandon (bro-in-law) made the drive from Spokane to spend the weekend with us. Mom's working the camera.

Pretty spectacular scenery! I guess fields like these are one silver lining in the ever cloudy Seattle sky. I'm working on linking all our pictures to an accessable online photo album, but my rookie blogging skills are bitting me in the arse. Hopefully I can figure it out sooner than later.

A little work, a lot of sunshine!

As promised, we're posting some pics of our moving prep weekend! We both got up early on Saturday to get to work. Kyle spent his time waxing our Jetta "Stuie" to get ready to sell him and I packed up more boxes to give our house the illusion of more space.

Here's some pics of how Deacon & Mercedes assisted all our hard work...

He's such a hard worker! It must have rubbed off on his sister....

They're just not used to the sunshine I think. It sucked up all their energy, fine by us!

Here's some of our packing in progress, it's starting to look so empty...

After our cleaning and packing we spent some time enjoying the very rare sunshine. Our friends Dan & Jodi just bought a boat and took us for a ride on Lake Washington. We spent most of the afternoon gawking at houses and yachts. Here's a picture of Paul Allen's houses ( for those non-Seattlelites, Paul Allen was the co-founder of Microsoft) and ferry with accompanying helipad, what house would be complete with out one?

It was so beautiful you could even see the ever elusive Mt. Rainier! Why do I hate Seattle? Because it rains for months and months and months and then you get a day of this....

Another great weekend for the Sale family, thanks for checking in!

Spring in the air...sort of

Winter seems to have made it last stand in the Pacific Northwest. Here's Stacie enjoying our last day tearing up Snoqualmie Pass. She's grinning because she graduated to the heart pounding black diamond runs this winter! That's my girl ;)

Here's me (Kyle) thinking "I'm probably not going to get to do this in Scotland".

Finally, when the going gets cold, Mercedes hogs the heat! Good thing spring is finally around the corner.

Welcome!

Welcome to the blog of our adventure to Scotland! Right now we're still in Seattle, but things are on the move. Our house goes up for sale on May 1st and we'll be packing our bags for a summer of leisure starting July 2nd! For the first time in 3 1/2 years we're going to have a hot summer! We're going to spend July in Virginia with my family and then August in Spokane with Kyle's family. Our target leaving date for Edinburgh is September 2nd, let the games begin!!

We'll keep you posted as things happen. We're packing up part of the house this weekend and waxing the car to sell, I'll post some action picks on Monday.
